Donald T. Kinsella, serves as counsel to the firm, focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, corporate investigations and criminal defense. Prior to becoming of counsel to the firm, Mr. Kinsella served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of New York. While an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Kinsella served as the Chief of the Narcotics Section from 1992 to 1998 and as the Chief of the Criminal Division. In addition, he managed the Albany branch of the U.S. Attorney's Office from 1997 until his departure. Mr. Kinsella has served as a Special District Attorney for Albany County in a number of sensitive matters from which the District Attorney’s Office was recused.
Prior to serving as an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Kinsella was in private practice, specializing in criminal litigation. He also served as an Assistant District Attorney for Madison County, New York.
Mr. Kinsella received his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and his law degree from the Boston University School of Law from which he also received a master’s degree in tax law. He is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York and the federal courts for the Northern District of New York. He is a member of the Albany County and New York State Bar Associations.
